Windows XP Help and Support builds on the version in Windows Me, adding new features and a nicer look and feel.   When you copy audio CDs to the hard drive, you get automatic album art on folders and content-specific music tasks.   The My Pictures folder provides a new Filmstrip view that enhances thumbnails with a larger preview pane.

The Network Setup Wizard replaces the Internet Connection Wizard and Home Networking Wizard from earlier versions of Windows.   In RC1, the Start Menu is pre-populated with links to Windows Media Player, MSN Explorer, Windows Movie Maker, Tour Windows XP, and the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.   By default, similar Explorer Windows will be grouped in the taskbar, making it easier to manage multiple applications.

The Welcome Screen now sports an animated Windows flag logo but is otherwise little changed from Beta 2.   The new version of Windows Media Player for Windows XP (formerly Windows Media Player 8) is available in RC1.   Also new to RC1 is Windows Messenger, which supports text, audio, and video chats, as well as application sharing, whiteboarding, and integrated with Remote Assistance.
